Birthday Bomber 12 Pack

Had some friends surprise me on my birthday with a 12 pack wine box filled with unique bombers.

A Malt liquor beer from Austria that will get you drunk off of one beer…wish I could get more!

I’ve had a few beers from this brewery and this one was definitely tasty. I would describe it as a mild farmhouse ale with a slight saison tartness.

Interesting Stout with bitter finish and slight flavor a of mint with the finish from perennial artisan ales in St. Louis.

Fruity taste with a tart finish. Has a slightly barrel taste which I always enjoy.
More beers to drink, will post them soon! Only a few from Colorado but love the variety thanks Hanah and Jason!

Avery now sells and fills growlers!

Starting last Monday 2/28, Avery Brewing started filling their state of the art growlers that are filled by a turn of a knob.  The interesting thing about these growlers is the machine fills the growlers with CO2 which allows you to store the growler unopened for up to 45 days! Pictured below is the machine and the prices.

As of right now, they are only filling their own growlers and working through some calibration issues with their handled growler. So if you want a growler filled the cheaper one on the left with out the handle is the way to go, cheers!

Avery Brewery opening

Experienced the Avery brewery opening on Monday 2/16/15 with my wife and some friends and wanted to share how it was. We arrived about 30 minutes early which was great because the line as opening arrived, turned into 100 plus people.

We were were some of the first into the new taproom and it definitely met my expectations. In the tap room there is a good sized bar, communal seating tables, and several other seating options including a patio. They have a restaurant area in addition to the taproom and they both have the same menu and beer options which is very convenient. As you walk through the brewery, there are catwalks exposing all the brewery equipment and showcasing the beauty of the facility. Also, there is a back bar which was a nice suprise.

Food:

Good sized menu, lots of new options compared to their old facility. They have lots of great options and I tried their BBQ plate with a few of there sides and it was delicious.

Beer:

Great beers as always, my favorite taps were the Bad Karma and Bad Buddha. If you are a fan of barrel aged or sour beers I would suggest both of these. Also they had some of their limited release beers on sale by the gift shop which was great since they are rare to find. They still do not sell growlers, but they stated that they will sell them in the future.

Overall I would highly recommend checking out the new facility, great food, great beers. The only downside is how busy it is since it is so new.
